NEW! Historical Hire Boxes and Virtual Workshops.

 At Historical Lives we understand that some schools may delay accepting visitors in person until a later date. To help with making the learning fun and still hands on we are offering boxes of equipment to hire. We are also offering virtual workshops over Zoom.

Historical Hire Boxes

Boxes are available for Ancient Greece, Rome, Saxons and Vikings.

​

They include blunted weapons, armour and helmets as well as other items connected to the historical period covered. All items (including the box itself) are cleaned after use and then quarantined for 48 hours. A list of contents with information about the items and suggested activities will also be included.

Delivery: Boxes will be delivered the day prior to use and collected at the end of the day (or the following morning via prior arrangement). Boxes will be available for schools within 70-mile radius of Birmingham ( if you would like a box but are further away, we will consider this but it may incur further costs)

Cost: £50 per box plus £25 for delivery/ collection (this is a one-off fee regardless of number of boxes hired).

Virtual Workshops

Virtual workshops are available either in isolation or alongside the box hire.

​

Workshops will be for 45 minutes and be led by our presenter wearing period costume. It will include an introduction to the period being studied and an exploration of weapons, armour and helmets as well as other items connected to the historical period covered. A Q&A could also be included as required. (we can cover any aspect from our usual presentations if you prefer)

Cost: £40 when workshop only (only  £25 when booked with box hire).
